Prof. Lalanne and Dr. Tuor Showcase Ongoing Work at MIT Media Lab

December 3, 2024

In November 2024, Prof. Denis Lalanne, with the support of Raphaël Tuor, showcased ALGEPI’s ongoing work at the MIT Media Lab in Boston. The presentation was part of a visit by the Human-IST Institute of the University of Fribourg, aiming to strengthen international collaboration with this world-leading academic institution.

The presentation focused on a demo currently under development, highlighting two transparency features of the prototype: the “weight of factors” and “independent ranking.” These features aim to enhance transparency in the recommender system and are actively being developed.

The visit was part of a collaboration between the Human-IST Institute of the University of Fribourg and the Responsive Environments Group led by Prof. Joe Paradiso. The teams engaged in insightful discussions on sensing and understanding environments and human augmentation.

Looking ahead, Prof. Paradiso and Dr. Pat Pataranutaporn will visit Switzerland in January 2025 for an event organized by Prof. Lalanne on “Augmented Intelligence and Human-AI Interaction,” supported by CUSO (Conférence Universitaire de Suisse Occidentale). Stay tuned for more updates!
